This is a variation on the three groups of Types previously ; nonetheless, whereas each of the types inside the Ego, Soul & Self places all discuss exactly the same driving origin, the forms comprising the four orienting groups have different source drives but the same motivating orientation.

By way of instance, the Caregiver is driven by the requirement to meet ego agendas through fulfilling the requirements of others, and it is a societal orientation; whereas, the Hero, which can be driven by the requirement to meet ego agendas, does so through brave action that demonstrates self-worth. Knowing the groupings will aid in understanding the self-perceptual and motivational dynamics of each type.
